The first weekend of October feels like the 'official' kickoff to fall here in Colorado.  There are SO many fun festivals, pumpkin patches and family events this weekend.  Here are a few of our favorites:


DENVER BEER FEST

Not to be confused with the Great American Beer Festival, the Denver Beer Fest is nine days of all things beer

From September 29 – October 7 there will be more than 100 beer-related events in Denver, America’s #1 beer city! Head to The Mile High City for tap takeovers, rare beer tappings, firkin nights, meet the brewer events, beer & food pairings and many, many more. The week culminates with the Great American Beer Festival, the largest beer competition in the country!

PUMPKIN HARVEST FESTIVAL

Celebrate the arrival of autumn with old-fashioned fun at this beloved annual event! Build your own scarecrow, select your favorite pumpkin from the patch, and tour the Park in a horse-drawn wagon. Explore how 19th-century Coloradans lived and prepared for the season, with historic demonstrations and tours of the Four Mile House Museum. CIDER DAYS

Celebrating Lakewood’s agricultural heritage with an entertaining mix of live performances, activities and tasty harvest treats, Cider Days offers fun and excitement for the entire family! This year’s event will include tractor pulls and vintage power displays, wagon and barrel train rides along with other children’s activities, historic demonstrations and a unique variety of exhibitors and vendors. A Cider Days festival wouldn’t be complete without everything apple – including apple pressing, apple cider by the glass or gallon, Apple Annie’s Baking Challenge (Sunday only) and more. Cider Days hosts the same great experience both Saturday and Sunday, and your admission covers all family-friendly activities and entertainment. 


SCHWEIGER RANCH FALL FEST

The City of Lone Tree and the Schweiger Ranch Foundation, invite you to come and join us for the annual Schweiger Ranch Fall Festival. Pick out your favorite pumpkin in our pumpkin patch or take a hay wagon ride. Additional activities include pumpkin decorations, story time, a petting zoo and more!  The event is free and open to the public.


PUNKIN CHUNKIN COLORADO

Punkin Chunkin is  pumpkin chunking competition that is one of only five such events sanctioned by the World Championship Punkin Chunkin organization. Watch as pumpkin are catapulted through the air by include slingshots, catapults, centrifugals, trebuchets, and pneumatic cannons. The fun-filled, three-day event  features family-friendly festival activities like live music, face painting, pony rides, crafts, a pumpkin patch and blow-up corn maze. A variety of food and beverage vendors satisfy any craving.

FESTIVAL OF SCARECROWS

Town Square will become a pumpkin patch and scarecrows of all shapes and sizes will stand guard throughout Olde Town. Bring costumed kids for the parade, navigate the corn maze, find a perfect pumpkin and be sure to vote for your favorite scarecrow!
